Fa algunes setmanes, BCQ va guanyar el concurs de la Nova Biblioteca al Parc Ramon Barnils de Sant Cugat del Vallès. Us presentem la nostra proposta, un edifici a sota de la catifa del parc, però permeable a aquest i a la ciutat.
La geometria del nou edifici és orgànica, adaptant-se amb naturalitat a les geometries dels recorreguts de vianants i el relleu del parc. La coberta de l’edifici s’alçarà com un nou mirador que també podrà ser utilitzat com a espai de relaxació i lectura. Un nou camí, serpentejant, l’envolta i la incorpora al parc com un àmbit més del seu paisatge.
L’organització de la biblioteca en horitzontal, a través d'una planta principal i una planta primera-altell, disposa les peces principals a nivell de l’accés i facilita el seu ús. A l’interior, un gran espai en planta baixa, queda envoltat d’àmbits més petits que asseguren una dimensió humana, domèstica i còmoda pels usuaris de la biblioteca.
La coberta enjardinada converteix la biblioteca en un edifici especialment sostenible pel gran aïllament tèrmic que genera. La façana i tres patis interiors oberts a la coberta permeten l’entrada de llum i ventilació a les àrees centrals del conjunt.
BCQ recently won the New Library at the Parc Ramon Barnils in Sant Cugat del Vallès competition. We’re glad to present our proposal, a building below the park carpet, but permeable to this and to the city.
The geometry of the new building is organic, adapting naturally to the geometries of the pedestrian paths and the relief of the park. The cover of the building will rise as a new viewpoint that can also be used as a space for relaxation and reading. A new path, snaking, surrounds it and incorporates it into the park as just another landscape element.
The organization of the library in horizontal, through a main floor and a first floor-mezzanine, has the main pieces at the access level and facilitates its use. Inside, a large space on the ground floor is surrounded by smaller areas that ensure a human, domestic and comfortable dimension for its users.
The landscaped roof makes the library a particularly sustainable building due to the great thermal insulation it generates. The façade and three inner courtyards open to the roof allow the entrance of light and ventilation to the central areas of the ensemble.
