Ambdós medis digitals es fan resó de la presentació del projecte de la nova Biblioteca de Vic a la ciutadanía el passat 20 de novembre per les regidores de Cultura i Urbanisme Susagna Roura i Fabiana Palmero. Dues sessions que van servir per explicar com s'han tingut en compte les les propostes dels ciutadans i recollir de noves.
El nou equipament està dissenyat en forma de 'L' i ocuparà el solar on abans hi havia l’antiga caserna de la Guàrdia Civil que va patir l'atempat d'ETA el 1991. El jardí serà l’espai central i les cinc plantes de l’equipament hi miraran. Serà un espai pensat per fer actes socials i culturals, alhora que podrà exercir d’espai de lectura durant els mesos de bon temps. El jardí també acollirà com a record 11 arbres que portaran els noms de les víctimes de l'atac terrorista.
Els dos medis destaquen principalment l'estratègia de sostenibilitat dissenyada per a l'edifici basada en la reducció de la demanda energética, la utilització de sistemes de la més alta eficiència i l'ús d'energies renovables amb l'objectiu final d'acostar-se als criteris dels edificis de consum pràcticament nul.
L'edifici implantarà durant el primer any un sistema de gestió energètica amb el seguiment d'indicadors de consum energètic i la formació d'usuaris i mantenidors.

The garden will also host 11 trees that will bring the names of the victims of the terrorist attack.
Both media stand out significantly the sustainability strategy designed for the building based on reducing energy demand, the use of the highest level efficiency systems and the use of renewable energies with the ultimate goal of approaching the criteria of practically zero consumption buildings.
In addition, during the first year the new library will implement an energy management system by monitoring indicators of energy consumption and training users and maintainers.
