El Museo de Arte de Lima (MALI) acaba de publicar los resultados del concurso lanzado hace pocas semanas para el diseño de su nueva ala de arte contemporáneo.

Un Museo de Arte subterráneo significa trabajar un vacío para mostrar volumen, color y texturas; confrontar el espacio con la materia y considerar que el arte está en ambos a través de nuestra mirada y de la luz.
El proyecto se plantea desde la convicción de que es posible crear un vacío en el que se controle con precisión la cantidad y calidad de luz para crear una atmósfera única.
Se propone construir una experiencia personal en el visitante capaz de detener su tiempo y ocupar su memoria.
Se propone recuperar las más bellas tradiciones de esculpir la piedra de los Incas, el trabajar la naturaleza para entendernos a nosotros mismos como parte de ella.
Se propone encontrar el camino para entender la arquitectura y el arte como una vivencia que se aleja de lo banal y superficial.
